Pathway Talent is working alongside New Horizons to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its Finance Operations team.

This is a 6 month term defined opportunity to bring your financial expertise and leadership skills to an organisation focused on supporting people and communities. You’ll oversee day-to-day financial operations, strengthen governance and drive improvements that support informed business decisions.

About the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead, accounts payable, accounts receivable, NDIS billing and procure-to-pay operations.

You’ll ensure financial information is accurate and timely, maintain strong internal controls and support your team through ongoing change and improvement.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and develop the Finance Operations team, building a collaborative culture.
  • Oversee daily financial transactions, weekly accounts payable payments
  • Manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support financial year-end audits, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Oversee timely NDIS claims and manage unbilled revenue against agreed targets.
  • Manage procure-to-pay processes, including purchase order accruals and adherence to procedures.
  • Improve and document financial processes, strengthen internal controls and protect confidential financial information.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, financial institutions and other external partners.
  • Experience with NDIS billing, claiming and funding processes is highly desirable.
What you’ll bring
  • A degree in finance, accounting or a relevant business discipline.
  • CA ANZ or CPA qualification.
  • Experience with NDIS billing, claiming and funding processes 
  • At least 10 years’ experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated accounting and/or audit experience.
  • Strong people leadership skills and the ability to guide teams through change.
  • Proven success in delivering process improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build
The successful applicant will be required to provide:
  • A satisfactory National Police Check.
  • Proof of identity and the right to work in Australia.
  • Evidence of relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Evidence of CA ANZ or CPA qualification.
  • NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • WWCC (or willingness to obtain)
