About the Role
As a Community Mental Health Support Worker, you will work alongside participants to provide recovery-oriented support that promotes wellbeing, independence, and community participation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building positive and professional relationships with participants
- Supporting individuals to achieve their recovery and wellbeing goals
- Assisting with community engagement and social inclusion activities
- Supporting access to services, appointments, education, and employment opportunities
- Encouraging independence, capacity building, and self-determination
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience in mental health, disability, community services, or a related sector
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A recovery-oriented and strengths-based approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A genuine commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and participant outcomes

- Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or a related qualification (or relevant industry experience)
- Minimum 12 months' experience in a Community Living Supports (CLS) program or a similar community-based program
- Sound understanding of recovery-oriented and person-centred practice
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural responsiveness
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems
- Current NSW Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIS Orientation Module
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency with unrestricted work rights
