As a Community Mental Health Support Worker, you will deliver person-centred, recovery-focused support that empowers individuals to live meaningful and independent lives.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting individuals with their recovery and wellbeing goals
- Encouraging social connection and community participation
- Assisting with capacity building, life skills and daily living activities
- Facilitating access to community services and support networks
- Promoting independence, choice and self-determination
- Building positive relationships with participants, families and stakeholders
- Maintaining professional documentation and case notes
We are interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- Experience working within mental health, community services, disability, peer support or a related sector
- Certificate IV in Mental Health or a relevant qualification (highly regarded)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate and person-centred approach
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A commitment to recovery-oriented practice and positive outcomes
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services
- Relevant lived experience
- Community-based support experience
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check
- Current Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
