About the Role
We are seeking Mental Health Peer Community Support Workers to join the Community Living Supports Program (CLS) .
In this role, you will deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented peer support, using your lived experience to build hope, reduce stigma, and support individuals to achieve their goals.
You will assist people with daily living skills, emotional regulation, and community participation, while helping them navigate services and access appropriate supports. You will also contribute to co-design and client voice initiatives, ensuring services reflect the needs and experiences of the people we support.

Support Delivery
- Deliver support using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches, ensuring safety, choice, and empowerment.
- Support customers to navigate services and connect with community resources and supports.
- Maintain an active caseload and meet support delivery targets
- Provide psychosocial support that builds independence, daily living skills, and social participation.
- Use your lived experience to challenge stigma, build hope, and create meaningful peer connections.
- Tailor support to individual goals and recovery journeys
- Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
- Work closely with clinical teams, families, and community organisations
- Contribute to team meetings, supervision, and service improvement initiatives
- Contribute to co-design and client voice initiatives, helping shape services based on lived experience.
- Engage in reflective practice and regular supervision to support safe and effective peer work.
- Follow all policies, WHS, and risk management procedures
- Report incidents and maintain accurate documentation

You Will Bring
- Lived experience of mental health recovery, with the ability to use it safely and purposefully in a peer support role
- Ability to support people with daily living skills, emotional regulation, and community participation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
- Ability to advocate for customers and promote inclusive, recovery-oriented practices
- Confidence to build relationships with customers, families, and community organisations
- Ability to support people to navigate systems and access services and resources
- Ability to manage complex needs and behaviours with confidence and care
- Capacity to maintain professional boundaries while using lived experience
- Commitment to reflective practice, supervision, and continuous learning
- Empathy, resilience, and adaptability when working with people experiencing mental health challenges
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Certificate IV in Mental Health or Peer Work or relevant industry experience
- Minimum 12 months experience in a CLS program or similar program
- Strong understanding of recovery-oriented, person-centred practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competency
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency with full work rights is required.
- NSW Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check (within 3 months)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module
- Physical capability to meet the requirements of the role, including lifting up to 10kg.
