Pathway Talent, working in partnership with New Horizons, is seeking early-career Psychologists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers to join the headspace Chatswood team and support young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing mental health and wellbeing concerns.
This is an excellent opportunity for practitioners who are early in their careers and want to develop their clinical capability within a supportive, collaborative and youth-focused environment. We also welcome expressions of interest from experienced clinicians considering a move into private practice.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence-based, person-centred and culturally responsive services to young people and, where appropriate, their families and support networks.
About the role Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions
- Supporting young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns
- Completing risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety plans
- Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential clinical documentation
- Working collaboratively with young people, families and support networks
- Participating in case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Liaising with schools, community services and other healthcare professionals
- Making referrals to specialist and community-based services where required
- Providing reports and updates to referring General Practitioners
- Supporting young people to make informed decisions about their care
- Participating in regular supervision, training and professional development
- Contributing to a welcoming, inclusive and youth-friendly service

We’d love to hear from practitioners who are early in their careers and passionate about developing their experience in youth mental health.
You’ll bring:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in psychology, occupational therapy or social work
- Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist, or current Accredited Mental Health Social Worker credential through the AASW
- An interest in working with young people aged 12 to 25
- Strong communication, engagement and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to ethical, person-centred and culturally responsive practice
- Openness to working collaboratively with young people’s family and professional networks
- Sound organisational and clinical documentation skills
- A willingness to participate in ongoing supervision and professional development
Essential requirements
The successful candidate will be required to hold or obtain:
- Current AHPRA registration for Psychologists or Occupational Therapists, or relevant AASW accreditation for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers
- An approved Medicare Provider Number or eligibility to provide mental health services under Medicare
- A current NSW Working with Children Check
- A current National Police Check
- Relevant professional indemnity insurance, where required
- Australian working rights
Headspace provides early-intervention mental health services to young people aged 12 to 25. Services support young people across mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug concerns, and work and study needs.
